Private schools in Franklin ranked by published tuition
For a five-day school in Franklin at the lowest published price, start with Grace Christian Academy. For a five-day independent school with Franklin campuses from age three to 12th grade, choose BGA, at about $9,650 to $14,000 a year more than Grace. If a parent can teach at home part of the week, Franklin Classical's hybrid model cuts the bill most.
| School | Location | K-4 or K-6 | Middle | High school |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Franklin Classical School (hybrid) | Franklin | $11,500 (K-6, Tue-Fri) | $9,500 (7-8 humanities block) | $10,250 (humanities block) |
| Grace Christian Academy | Franklin | $15,250 | $17,800 | $18,600 |
| Battle Ground Academy | Franklin, three campuses | $24,900 | $31,300 | $32,600 |
| Franklin Road Academy | Nashville (4700 Franklin Pike) | $28,200 | $34,030 | $36,370 |
The order follows one checkable rule: the lowest published 2026-27 tuition for a K-12 student, from each school's own tuition page in November 2026. Quality isn't ranked because private schools share no common measure, and schools without confirmed tuition are listed further down. Confirm the year on any figure before you budget.
Lower-tuition private schools in Franklin
Franklin Classical costs under half of BGA at every grade, and Grace Christian Academy about 40% less. One shortens the school week; the other keeps a full week with a smaller fee list.
Franklin Classical School: the hybrid private school model
It's a classical Christian school with a hybrid week. Its K-6 grammar school runs Tuesday to Friday, 8:00 to 2:40, for $11,500 all-inclusive. From 7th grade, students take a humanities block at school ($9,500 for 7-8, $10,250 for 9-12) and either add electives at $900 to $1,060 each or study other subjects at home. Registration requires a binding contract and 12% of tuition up front, and there's a $150 fee per sport. The catch is the day at home: the low price assumes a parent covers Mondays and, in upper grades, part of the curriculum.
Grace Christian Academy in Franklin
Grace Christian Academy runs a five-day program at $15,250 for K-4, $17,800 for 5-8 and $18,600 for 9-12, with Pre-K at $7,025. Tuition is paid in 12 monthly payments from June 1, 2026 to May 1, 2027. The application fee is $50, re-enrollment is $350 per student with a $700 family cap, and the school discounts tuition $1,000 for a fourth and fifth enrolled child. It posts 2027-28 tuition on November 13, 2026. Ask about the fee list beyond tuition, since the school's page lists fewer extras than BGA or FRA.
Full-tuition private schools near Franklin
BGA and FRA are priced within about $4,000 of each other at every grade, but only BGA is in Franklin.
Battle Ground Academy's three Franklin campuses
Battle Ground Academy runs three campuses, all in Franklin: the Early Learning Center at 101 Legends Club Lane (37069), the Harpeth Campus for K-4 at 150 Franklin Road (37064) and the Glen Echo Campus for 5-12 at 336 Ernest Rice Lane (37069). Tuition is $17,300 for the Early Learning Center, $24,900 for K-4 (plus $1,300 for optional lunch), $31,300 for 5-8 with meals (plus $250 for an iPad and textbooks in grades 5-7) and $32,600 for 9-12 with meals (plus $1,600 for a device and textbooks). The catch: younger and older siblings attend different campuses, which can mean two drop-offs.
Franklin Road Academy, Nashville
FRA's name suggests Franklin, but its campus is at 4700 Franklin Pike in Nashville (37220), in Davidson County. Tuition is $18,450 for PreK3 through JK, $28,200 for K-4, $34,030 for 5-8 and $36,370 for 9-12, with dining included from K-12. Fees add $700 to $900 a year for activities and supplies and a $1,695 laptop every four years from 5th grade. An optional morning bus costs $800 a year and serves the Belle Meade, McEwen Drive and Concord Road areas. Price the daily drive north before you count FRA as a Franklin option.
Private school tuition from kindergarten to 12th grade
Over 13 years at today's published rates, the gap between the lowest and highest school reaches $282,100 per student. These totals use 2026-27 tuition for every year from K to 12th and leave out raises, fees and aid.
| School | K-12 tuition at 2026-27 rates |
|---|---|
| Franklin Classical School (K-6 grammar, then humanities block) | $140,500 |
| Grace Christian Academy | $221,850 |
| Battle Ground Academy | $380,100 |
| Franklin Road Academy | $422,600 |
Tuition vs Franklin's FSSD tax line
Compare that with the public route. A City of Franklin home inside the Franklin Special School District pays about $1,546 a year more in property tax than a city home outside it, on Zillow's typical $913,277 value. Over 13 years that's about $20,000, against $140,500 to $422,600 in private tuition. The guide to Franklin's public school systems explains FSSD and Williamson County Schools and how to check an address.
A monthly Franklin budget with private school tuition
Spread over 12 months, Grace Christian Academy's K-4 tuition is about $1,271 a month and BGA's is about $2,075. That second figure is close to the gap in principal and interest between Zillow's typical Franklin home ($5,059 a month at 7.4% with 20% down) and Spring Hill's ($2,874). One child at a full-tuition school costs about the same each month as choosing Franklin over Spring Hill. Run both in the Franklin cost of living budgets before deciding which one your budget carries.
Private school fees and campus locations in Franklin
Two things move the real cost after tuition: the fee list and the drive. Ask every school for the first, and let the second shape where you look for a home.
Fees beyond tuition at Franklin private schools
Here is what each school's page lists on top of 2026-27 tuition. Schools that don't list a fee may still charge one, so ask for the full sheet.
| School | Published extras |
|---|---|
| Battle Ground Academy | Optional K-4 lunch $1,300; iPad and textbooks $250 (grades 5-7); device and textbooks $1,600 (9-12) |
| Franklin Road Academy | Activity and supply $700 to $900; laptop $1,695 every four years (5-12); after care $3,420 to $4,000; morning bus $800 |
| Franklin Classical School | Application $150 to $225; $150 per sport; re-enrollment $150 ($200 from February 1); electives $900 to $1,060 each |
| Grace Christian Academy | Application $50; re-enrollment $350 per student, $700 family cap |
On a BGA upper school year, the device and textbook fee lifts the cost from $32,600 to $34,200. At FRA, a 5th grader in after care comes to about $40,000 in a laptop year.

Private school financial aid and scholarships in Tennessee
Aid deadlines fall early in the year before you'd enroll, so a summer relocation can mean applying in January from another state.
Battle Ground Academy financial aid in Franklin
BGA awards more than $3.0 million in aid to 21% of its families, with typical awards covering 70% to 75% of demonstrated need. There's no aid for the Early Learning Center and no sibling discount. Its stated deadlines are January 15 for new applicants and December 15 for current families; confirm which school year the page refers to.
Tennessee Education Freedom Scholarship
Tennessee's Education Freedom Scholarship is anticipated at $7,295 per student for 2026-27, pending final state approval, according to one Franklin school's tuition page. Confirm the amount and how to apply on the state's own page before you count it. At that figure it would cover most of Franklin Classical's K-6 tuition, or under a third of BGA's K-4.
